Holly snagged some last-minute tickets to this concert, one of her better decisions.  :-)  Unfortunately, I can’t find the confounded set list anywhere, which might be elusive since they took a request from some audience members.  There was certainly something in this show for everyone.

See, while Holly digs the lyrics of their Paul’s Boutique and Hello Nasty albums, I prefer the instrumentals.  And based on their new hits from The Mix-Up like Suco de Tangerina, their new album sounds like it’s right up my alley, too.  But alas, I found their 2004 `To The 5 Boroughs’ tour much more fulfilling than this concert, even though it had more of the instrumental hits I so desired.  Personally, it didn’t get better than the entire front of the stage sliding out with B-Boys adorned with powder-blue tuxes churning out Song for Junior and others in ‘04.

I do recall my favorite part of the evening was finding that someone was gettin’ down in a costume they fashioned for themselves of a cheesy Intergalactic robot from what looked like a silver-painted cardboard box, foam cups, and reflectors.  I wish I could’ve gotten a picture with them; would’ve made my night.

One of our workstations keeps getting left on all night, so I decided to investigate a combination of Task Scheduler and a few “shutdown utilities” to see what the best way to tuck it in for the night might be.

I checked out the Windows XP shutdown.exe program, but all it offers is a countdown timer to imminent shutdown (can’t cancel it), but amazingly, doesn’t power off the machine.   (All it displays is the “It is now safe to power off your machine.” dialog.)  I can just hear Holly expressing her unhappiness about being cut off from a late-night Webkins episode now…

Well, a better solution is this Beyond Logic Shutdown program.  It takes the same kind of parameters as the Windows Utilities shutdown.exe program, but allows the option to cancel and looks generally more friendly too.

Since Holly received her Webkinz from Abby and setup the online account to access the Webkinz World to interact with the virtual pet, she’s taken a liking to using the stove she bought to cook strange combinations of raw and prepared ingredients to create even stranger results.

The first such result was Nuggetdog Megaroni, which looks like something I would actually eat.

It’s a combination of mac n’ cheese, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets.  If someone were to make this in real life, I’d imagine they’d have to start with a hollowed-out chicken kiev, then stuff it instead with Kraft Dinner and cut up dogs.

As for eating the others?  Well, not so much.  After all, jelly, fish sticks, and asparagus aren’t really my speed.

A lot of the paint was chipping off my Nokia 6682, so I decided to put some paint of my own on it.  I picked up some Tamiya Olive Drab at Pat’s Hobbies & Crafts, the stuff used for plastic model kits that washes up in water, and got to work.

Since I used to build plastic models (I think I finished around 50-60 total), at this point, it was just like old times.

I found some B-25 decals in my basement to give it a nice Patton look.
